The last episode, which drew in 1.75 million viewers in the UK over Christmas, left many fans of the hit US drama in shock after witnessing the beloved character Nicholas Brody, played by Damian Lewis, killed off in a gruesome execution.
The British actor recently revealed how he misses being part of the show and in particular his co-star Danes.
''I miss Danesy! I miss her! They'll be starting up again now," he said, speaking during the first London TimesTalks event, organised by the New York Times.

The famous red-haired Brit also confessed how he almost turned down the role in the hit drama because he didn't want to be away from his wife and kids.
''Having had this wonderful but tough experience living in Los Angeles away from home, I was very reluctant to do to another TV show," he explained. "The script was sent to me by my American agent who said, 'Just read this one'. Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa are involved, they ran '24'. Claire Danes is doing it."
Homeland will be back on TV screens later this year.
