Has James Arthur Found His Next Record Label Following Simon Cowell 'Axe'?
Jun 28th 2014, 15:12

James Arthur announced he had left his record company Syco earlier this month and now it seems he is on the lookout for a new label to release his second album with.

The X Factor winner is reportedly in talks with Virgin EMI and Island Records about a possible deal with one of them.

Click Music reports an inside source as saying "any discussions are ongoing" and that James' next steps are being considered carefully.

The singer was automatically signed to Syco on winning The X Factor in 2012 and it's unclear whether he left the label of his own accord or was dumped.

Announcing the news earlier this month, James Tweeted: "Just to clear things up – I am no longer with Syco. I would like to thank all at the label for making a great record with me." He added: "I now have to move on and do something different – the future is bright! #LOVE"

The split with Syco followed James' use of controversial lyrics and a public feud with his fellow X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan. At the launch of Britain's Got Talent in April, Simon Cowell said: "I think he and I just need to sit down and have a conversation."
