Zooey Deschanel may be a huge name in the world of acting but she's also an established music star with her indie band She & Him having just joined Columbia Records, a Sony Music subsidiary.
New Girl actress Zooey and her bandmate M. Ward were previously signed to independent label Merge Records with whom they have released four albums since 2008.

According to The Hollywood Reporter the pair are expected to release their next album this autumn.
They also report that Zooey and M. Ward met in 2007 through Martin Hynes, director of the film The Go-Getter in which Zooey starred as Kate and M. Ward produced the movie's soundtrack. Hynes had asked Zooey to perform a duet with M. Ward. They later went on to perform songs for the 2011 Winnie The Pooh film.
Zooey, 34, certainly has a busy career – IMDB credits her as having composed music for New Girl and The Simpsons and as well as her musical achievements and TV success she has starred in many hit films including 500 Days Of Summer, Yes Man and Elf.
