Dakota Johnson's Father Speaks Out On Her 'Inappropriate' Character In Fifty Shades Of Grey
Jun 23rd 2014, 09:58

Don Johnson just can't escape talk about his soon-to-be mega star daughter Dakota, with the actor revealing this morning that her character in the forthcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie could be considered "inappropriate".

Don may be the man who bought us Sonny in Miami Vice, as well as having a 40-year career in movies, TV and music, but all anyone wants to talk about lately is his actress daughter Dakota.

After having bit roles in movies like The Social Network and The Five Year Engagement, Dakota is about to hit the big time with her first big lead in the movie adaptation of EL James' smash hit novel, Fifty Shades of Grey.

It's not exactly the type of film any father would want to see his daughter in, but Don is full of confidence that Dakota will knock everyone's socks off.

"This is the family business, this is what we do and I am absolutely certain that Dakota will take a piece of material and a character which a lot of people might imagine could be inappropriate in some ways and turn it into something spectacular," the actor told ITV's Good Morning Britain today.

"Speaking like a proud father and a seasoned professional, I can tell you that she is a gifted, gifted actress and this will just be one part in a long line of tremendous performances in her career," he added.

This isn't the first time Don has spoken out on Dakota's career, with the actor telling the Graham Norton Show last week that he wasn't exactly keen on his little girl following him into acting.

"I told my children that as long as they were in college I would payroll them," he revealed. "She told me she wasn't going to school because she was going to be an actress and I was like, 'I've never seen you in a show and you've never taken a class, so how is that going to work out for you?'"

"Two months later she is in The Social Network and she got her own TV series [Ben and Kate]. She's a fine actress and is doing better than me!"
