Labor Day's Josh Brolin 'Plays Villain Thanos In Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy'
Jun 1st 2014, 13:32

Labor Day actor Josh Brolin will play Thanos in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, according to reports.

Brolin joins a star-studded cast that already includes Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Karen Gillan, providing the voice for the CGI Titanian Eternal in James Gunn's space adventure movie, according to Latino Review.

Actor Damon Poitier made a brief appearance as Thanos in the 2012 Avengers movie but now Brolin has allegedly been cast as the villain in the new Marvel flick, with reports claiming that he could also be cast as the baddie in the character's standalone motion picture too.

The 46-year-old is also tipped to star as Thanos in next years Avengers sequel, Age of Ultron.

The actor isn't new to comic book movies however and has in the past played the likes of Jonah Hex for DC and Warner Bros and has also starred in Spike Lee's Oldboy remake.

If the reports are true, Brolin won't be voicing Guardian's main villain, instead that role goes to Ronan the Accuser, played by Lee Pace in the new film.

Guardians of the Galaxy will hit UK cinemas on July 31.
