Flying solo: Calvin Harris was spotted shopping at Barney's NYC in Beverly Hills two days before the announcement
Rita and Calvin - who began dating inn May 2013 - were last seen together while at a taping of Watch What Happens Live in New York City at the end of April, but she has recently seen the song they wrote and produced together hit the No. 1 spot in the UK.
Throughout the promotion of the single I Will Never Let You Down, Ora has spoken lovingly and adoringly of Harris.
Speaking on The Vodafone Big Top 40, she said: 'It was amazing. I always thought it was a bad idea to work with your partner. But I'm wrong! It was actually the most liberating, free, almost cleansing experience.
'I felt like I didn't have to be anybody but myself in that room. It was so refreshing to do that.'
Speculation: It seems Calvin wanted to clarify things after he was spotted with two different women over the last week
Though recently, Rita discussed the difficulties in long-distance relationships.
'You have to fly each other out, you just have to,' Rita told The Mirror. 'Sometimes you fly for 20 hours, sometimes you only fly for five hours. It's an effort, but you make it work.
'I'm not a fan of long distance relationships. If you had a choice, you want that person with you. It makes me pretty sad. But you work with what you've got.'
Rita has yet to publicly comment on the split while she enjoys a holiday in Mexico.
