The rapper will not be at the British Summer Time festival...
The British Summer Time festival will come roaring into London's Hyde Park next month with bands such as Black Sabbath and Arcade Fire scheduled to perform. Missing from the bill, however, will be Eminem, who has been banned from performing at the festival due to what the venue's bosses are calling his "offensive" and "unsuitable" lyrics.
In new documents obtained by the Mirror, it was revealed that Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, would not be allowed to perform at the festival because of his reputation for being offensive.

"This artist flagged risks across the board. In particular in respect of our public reputation," Linda Lennon, the CEO of Hyde Parks' parent company Royal Parks, wrote in an email obtained by the Mirror. "The nature of any act with potential for lyrics to be deemed offensive and/or unsuitable language being audible within the park as a whole, let alone the surrounding residential areas, is unacceptable."
Although AEG, the promoters of the concert, have tried to negotiate terms in order to get Eminem to appear, the suggestions have been shot down. The venue execs reportedly vetoed the suggestions because they felt Eminem's performance could upset other park users. The Mirror also revealed that an appeal was sent to London's mayor, Boris Johnson, in hopes of him helping to get Eminem on the festival's bill but it was unsuccessful because, according to his office staff, he has no idea who Eminem is.
Eminem will play London's Wembley Stadium in July, a concert that marks the first time a rapper has ever headlined the stadium. Last month, when discussing the gig at Wembley, Eminem commented on his ban at Hyde Park.
"I heard that I wasn't going to be approved to play in Hyde Park and it made me even more excited to play in London this summer," he said. ""The easiest way to get me to do something is to tell me I can't do it. Thanks to the Royal Parks for making it all possible...for Wembley."
