Taylor Schilling has revealed that her appearance when she was younger meant that the star had a "painful" time at school, but has admitted that her body and looks are no longer something that she feels "bound by".
The Orange Is The New Black actress has said that she was singled out by her classmates because of the way she looked and has described her childhood as "tough".
She told Allure magazine: "It was tough at home, and it was tough at school... And my experience was painful, so painful. There was a period of time I had very short hair, and I had glasses, and I was very tall for my age."

Nowadays, Schilling remains one of the most beautiful women on the red carpet but despite her good looks, the 29-year-old is more comfortable with herself, and is happy to not be "bound" by her appearance.
"I don't bound by my face or my body. I don't feel like that's the biggest gift I have to offer the world. I feel like there are more parts of me to offer than that," the star explained.
Taylor's role as Piper in the hit prison comedy-drama sees her don a baggy prison jumpsuit in almost every episode, something that the actress has said she finds "liberating".
"It's totally liberating. There's a freedom in not having to make it about how my jeans fit or what my boobs look like in a top. All I have to do now is play."
