Prince To Perform At Glastonbury 2014: The Truth FINALLY Revealed?
Jun 26th 2014, 09:29

Prince may have been surrounded by rumours suggesting that he's going to be performing at Glastonbury this year for months now, but according to festival organisers, the singer will NOT be taking to the stage. Boo!

Despite organiser Emily Eavis claiming that the Friday 11am slot on The Other Stage is yet to be filled, she has said that Prince will not be making an appearance.

Keen to address the constant social media rumours, Emily spoke to NME magazine to set the record straight once and for all.

She told the magazine of the surprise guest: ''I don't know who it is. There may well be some secret sets elsewhere, but Prince isn't coming.

''We always have conversations with Prince, every year. Maybe one day it will happen. For The Rolling Stones last year, we'd talked about doing it 10 years before. It's a timing thing for everyone.''

Emily's father, Michael Eavis, started the much-loved festival and she claimed that there's a "right time" for all guests to do the festival, and this is not it for the Purple Rain hitmaker, fans will be disappointed to hear.

Emily said: ''I think a lot of people want to see him here, and probably the more people ask him, the more he thinks no. But I don't know!''

Michael also claimed that the festival did want Prince to play previously, but the singer got "really upset" because he thought that Glasto had advertised that he was playing.

He said: ''We hadn't, but with social media, rumours get everywhere, and one of those rumours was that Prince was coming. So he didn't want to do it in the end.''
