Charlie Hunnam has revealed just what a difficult decision it was to drop out of the hugely hyped Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
The Sons of Anarchy star was cast in the lead role of Christian Grey in the big screen adaptation of EL James' smash hit novel last autumn, but just a month later it was announced Charlie had dropped out of the project.
Jamie Dornan went on to take the part, with statements at the time blaming Charlie's hectic schedule on his decision to quit.
"I felt like I had an interesting take on that character and felt like I could have done a good job of playing Christian Grey, otherwise I wouldn't have taken it on in the first place," Charlie has now told Life & Style.

"When you put the time into something like that and a character comes alive in your mind, it's heartbreaking not to be able to play him," he continued. "It was definitely kind of heartbreaking having to say goodbye to that character and not bring it to life."
"I have had some family stuff going on so just trying to stay focused and stay positive and keep trying to do a good job at work and be with my family and stay positive," the actor told told E! News shortly after dropping out of the film, with the decision coming not long after his father passed away.
Despite leaving Christian behind, Charlie has added to Life & Style that he would be up for attending the Fifty Shades premiere next February: "If they invite me to the premiere, I will go and see it there. If not, I'll go and buy some tickets on opening night", he revealed.
