'I Wanted To Step Alone': Cheryl Cole On Why Will.i.am Failed To Feature On New Song 'Crazy Stupid Love'
Jun 2nd 2014, 07:42

With only weeks to go before Cheryl Cole makes her long-awaited return to The X Factor, the Geordie singer has opened up on why Will.I.Am didn't appear on her new single, 'Crazy Stupid Love'.

Chezza, who is set to be performing the track on the upcoming Britain's Got Talent finale, has revealed she wanted to "step alone" this time.

"Will's been doing his own thing," she told Capital FM. "I went and did a guest appearance for him on his tour."

The singer is busy promoting new song 'Crazy Stupid Love' (WENN)

"But it's different, it's like my fourth album," she explained. "I wanted to step alone. And I would still ask him his advice, play him tracks and stuff."

Adding: "But it just feels like I want to be my own person this time."

The 30-year-old star will be releasing her hotly anticipated fourth solo studio album this November, to coincide with this year's X Factor live shows, after signing a reported £1.5 million contract to return to the show.

Ahead of the single's release, Cheryl said in a statement: "I can't remember being so excited to be releasing new music. After taking some time out I feel brand new and I had such a special time making this record."
