Joey Chestnut did something today that he's done seven previous times, all in a row:
By downing 61 hot dogs in 10 minutes, "Jaws" won his eighth consecutive Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest championship.
But Chestnut also did something he's never before done: the competitive eater proposed!
And girlfriend Neslie Ricasa said YES!!!
"I could never find my rhythm, so it was just a dog fight the whole time," said Chestnut of the competition, which was tied with just over a minute remaining.
Last year, Chestnut ate a record 69 hot dogs at the event.
Still, thanks to Ricasa, we'd like to believe Joey was more satisfied with how this year's turned out.
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have a wedding to plan and a baby to welcome. What an exciting year to come!
