5 Seconds of Summer have officially earned their title as superstars as the Australian band have shot straight to the top of the Billboard Top 200 with their self-titled debut album.
But not only have the boys casually landed their first number one on the tally, they've been breaking records in the process.
Unbelievably the band's debut marks the first time an Australian act has gone straight to number one on the Billboard Top 200 with their first record as they shifted a whopping 259,000 copies of 5 Seconds of Summer in the States over the past week, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

The enormous first week sales figures also earns the boys the highest first week sales for an Australian act ever and the third-largest debut sales of 2014 - the fourth-largest sales week altogether, behind Coldplay's Ghost Stories and Eric Church's The Outsiders which sold 383,000 and 288,000 copies respectively.
Their staggering sales also mark the highest debut for a group in the States since Daughtry's self-titled album which sold 304,000 copies back in 2006.
But are we surprised? Not at all! Michael, Luke, Calum and Ashton have been causing a storm in America throughout 2014 with their four-song EP She Looks So Perfect hitting number two on the Top 200 with sales of 143,000 earlier this year.

The band have also been charming the socks off US fans supporting best pals One Direction on their Where We Are stadium world tour. Give it a couple of years and maybe 1D will be supporting 5SOS!
Understandably, the chart-toppers were gob smacked over their achievements with Ashton sharing the band's excitement on Twitter. "To everyone that's been apart of the journey so far we love you so much, you guys made the album number #1 in the US, we are speechless."

Further down the chart, the Frozen soundtrack continues to fly high rising from five to two with a further 37,000 copies sold while last weeks number one, Weird Al Yankovic's comedy album Madatory fun slips two places to number three. Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour climbs to number four with Kidz Bop Kids' Kidz Bop rounding off the top 5.
