Miley Cyrus' VMA date, who has become an overnight sensation since accepting her Video of The Year award earlier this week, has handed himself into an Oregon jail after police issued a warrant for his arrest.
Jesse Helt has posted $2,500 bail after holding his hands up following police revelations that they had issued a warrant for his arrest.
Corrections Director Martin Silbernagel revealed that the 22-year-old will appear before the courts in just two weeks on charges of criminal mischief, criminal trespass and burglary from 2010.

Helt allegedly broke into a man's apartment four years ago, believing he sold marijuana and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and probation. However Miley's new BFF fled to Los Angeles after breaking the terms of his probation where he has since been living on the streets, trying to pave out a career in modelling.

Leaving the Oregon jail last night, Jesse refused to answer any questions from a lurking photographer before heading into a car with an unidentified male.

The 'Wrecking Ball' chart-topper fought back at the media who chose to focus on Jesse's troubled past rather than the larger issue she had hoped to shed light on.
"People who are homeless have lived very hard lives. Jesse included," she tweeted after Jesse's legal records hit the press. "I hope that this can be the start of a national conversation about youth homelessness and how to end it. Does looking down upon the homeless help people excuse their inaction?
"While they obsesses over one homeless mans legal issue lets help the other 1.6 million homeless youth."
