Joan Rivers remains in a stable but critical condition in hospital today, after she reportedly stopped breathing during an operation on Thursday. As the Fashion Police host is joined by her family in hospital, her long list of celebrity friends have been sending their support on Twitter.
The 81-year-old is said to have been in the middle of the operation to treat her vocal chords at a clinic on Thursday morning when she allegedly stopped breathing. She was rushed to Mount Sinai hospital in New York, where she reportedly remains in a medically induced coma.
Joan's daughter Melissa, who jetted straight to New York with her son after hearing the news, has given a statement to press to "thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother. She is resting comfortably and is with our family." She added: "We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers."
Joan is certainly in the thoughts of her friends, with a huge list of pals sending love as the news broke yesterday:
