As Jon Voight Reveals He Didn't Get An Invite: Who WAS At Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie's Wedding?
Aug 29th 2014, 12:00

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally tied the knot, marrying in a private and intimate ceremony in the South of France over the weekend. But with a reported guest list of just 22, who actually saw the happy couple exchange vows?

Angie and Brad's big day took place on Saturday on the couple's sprawling South of France estate, Chateau Miraval, and unlike the likes of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, it was a very secretive and intimate affair. The wedding was only made public yesterday, five days later, with the lack of leaks no doubt due to the very small and loyal guest list.

It's been reported that only 22 close friends and family saw Brangelina exchange vows, with the majority of the guest list made up of Brad's family. The actor is famously close to his parents, Bill and Jane, who have attended big awards shows and premieres with their famous son and daughter-in-law in the past, so it's no surprise they made the list. E! report that Brad's brother, Doug Pitt, sister Julie Pitt and her two children also made the journey to France for the big day.

As for Angie's side of the family, it's been revealed that the actress didn't invite her father Jon Voight, with whom she's had an infamously rocky relationship with in the past. Since divorcing Angelina's mother Marcheline Bertrand in 1980, Jon and his daughter have had a rollercoater relationship, but in recent years had appeared to patch up their differences, with the proud grandfather often heard gushing about his relationship with Brangelina's six children in interviews. Talking to Good Morning Britain today though, Jon revealed he wasn't at the wedding, but did say of Brad: "I'm very happy that I can legitimately call him my son-in-law, this wonderful fellow who I love."

"You know what they are very happy. The kids must have had a wonderful time at the wedding, they all had their things to do and it must have been very beautiful so I'm very happy for them," the 75-year-old actor added, before revealing that he has plans to meet up with his daughter and her new husband soon: "She's working now with Brad, and I've got a couple of things to do, but as soon as we can we'll get together and it's going to be exciting." When asked if he was upset at not being invited, Jon, who was busy at the Emmys just two days after the nuptials, added: 'I'm not disappointed, I understand. The children have been bugging them for a long time to get married and the time was right."

Speaking of the children, it does sound like Brad and Angie made sure their six strong brood was a priority on their wedding day. Angelina walked down the aisle with her eldest sons, Maddox and Pax, whilst Zahara and Vivienne both threw petals over the newlyweds, leaving Shiloh and Knox to serve as ring bearers.

As for Angie's beloved late mother, the star made sure Marcheline was also a bit part of the day. A source has told the MailOnline that Angelina made a promise to her mother, who died in 2007, that she would marry in France. And while information on Angelina's gown is not yet known, the source also claims that the actress "definitely wore something that once belonged to [her late mother] Marcheline Bertrand. It was a small locket with a photo of her mother inside it. She had a veil and Brad gasped when he lifted it because she looked so stunning."

So with Brad's family and the couple's children pretty much filling the guest list, there was little room for any A-list pals on Saturday, including Brad's BFF and Oceans 11 co-star George Clooney. George, who's currently planning his own wedding to Amal Alamuddin, has told Entertainment Tonight how delighted he is for his pals: "How great is that?!! I'm really happy for Brad and Angie and their whole family," he gushed at an event on Thursday.
