If you're planning a trip to the cinema anytime soon, it's time to have a re-think
Summer is officially over. Sorry guys! Not only have we dug out our coats a month early, in fact yesterday we even saw several scarves stepping out for an appearance, but it's also then end of the this season's run of fantastic cinema until the run up to Christmas.
Sadly while the night's draw in and we'd love nothing more than a trip to out local theatre for an extra large popcorn and a exhilarating ride, it looks like we're going to be waiting a while with the only big budget blockbuster set to open in the coming weeks coming from Pierce Brosnan's The November Man.
No offence Pierce, but you know it's going to be a dry few weeks at the pictures when the biggest film in the movie calendar comes from Pierce Brosnan.

In what is Pierce's latest attempts to reignite his carrer, judging by the trailer, The November Man looks like it's been written from a 'How To Write A Spy-Thriller For Dummies' guide book. In the film, the Bond alumni is called back into action to battle a former protégée, joining forces with with a thirty-something femme fatale half his age with bad jokes and predictable plots. If you couldn't tell, we're not hopeful!
Sin City: A Dame to Kill has also failed to set cinemas alight, and if you've seen Lucy you'll know this summer's most promising action-packed thriller turned out to be nothing more than a sensational damp squib. Not the ending to this summer we'd hoped for, especially with classics such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes making for such a promising start.
Sadly the coming months appear to be a particularly sad state of affairs as the summer draws to a close. So apart from the grey skies and premature down pours, how can you tell the sun is leaving us? Just have a look at the cinema listings.
Last year it was a similar story with the diabolical Red 2 desperately failing to make an impact on the global box office with its nearest competition coming from the equally shambolic but ironically less terrifying horror, The Conjuring.
So if you're planning a trip to the cinema in the coming weeks, don't get your hopes up.
