Ariana Grande's career is taking off in ways than no one could have predicted, but while the singer is enjoying phenomenal success in her professional life, she suffered a personal tragedy today that she's since shared with her millions of followers on Twitter.
Ariana's grandfather passed away this morning, and the grieving singer has since posted over a dozen of tweets about the loss, as she mourns and shares fond memories of her "favorite person."
"Thank you for your continuous love and light over the past few weeks," said Grande, addressing fans who offered prayers and condolences during Grandpa Grande's final days."
"We did lose my favorite person to ever exist yesterday, my grandpa. It only y'all knew how amazing he was. My heart hurts so much."
This isn't the first time that Ariana has demonstrated remarkable candidness when addressing her fans.
Ariana spoke on the cancellation of Sam & Cat recently in what seemed to be a frank and totally unrehearsed fashion.
In her tweets over the past 24 hours Ariana even opened up about her family's struggles with the decision of whether or not to pull her brother Frankie from the show Big Brother (on which he's currently competing) in order to attend the funeral.
Apparently, Grandpa Grande had the final word on that matter, telling the family, "No he has to compete, even if I don't understand it."
Sounds like he was quite a guy. Our hearts go out to Ariana and her family.
R.I.P. Philip Seymour Hoffman (1967-2014). He will forever be missed!
