Kesha Admits She Once Broke Into Prince's House
Jul 25th 2014, 21:52

By Ashley Majeski On July 25, 2014

The singer said she had no problem breaking in...

Kesha would stop at nothing to become a famous singer. In fact, the Rising Star judge was so desperate to get her demo tape into the hands of important people in the music industry, she even resorted to trespassing. During an appearance on The Tonight Show on Thursday, Kesha told host Jimmy Fallon that she once broke into the home of Prince in an attempt to get him to listen to her music.

"It was so easy," Kesha said of the break-in. "I cruised up in my dead grandpa's car…so I get out and there's a gardener in the front yard."

Kesha said she gave the gardener $5 to look the other way while she entered the Purple Rain singer's home.

"I snuck under the fence and I just, like, trotted up the mountain and the door [to the house] was open, it was unlocked," she said. "So it was like, basically an invitation! I walked in and everything was purple velvet! I was very pleased that my fantasy at come true and there really was purple velvet everywhere!"

She told Jimmy that she then took an elevator—which played Prince music, naturally—upstairs and eventually came face-to-face with The Purple One.

"There's Prince playing the guitar with a beanie on and I almost pooped my pants!" Kesha said.

Prince didn't kick Kesha out of his house. Instead, she says he gave her a puzzled look as she laid one of her CDs on his table.

"Then I ran away!" she said, adding that she never heard back from Prince about her music. Or, at least, "Not yet," she said with a smile.
