Twitter might be pointing the finger of blame firmly in Diana's direction following last night's shocking episode of the Great British Bake Off, but the amateur baker has insisted that she wasn't to blame for the destruction of Iain's baked alaska.
In case you haven't heard, temperatures rose to a dangerous level when Iain walked out of the GBBO tent when his baked alaska failed to work after his ice cream was taken out of the freezer too early. As scenes unfolded, fans placed the blame firmly at Diana's door after they saw her and Nancy talking about finding space in the freezer. As a result of Iain's decision to chuck his bake in the bin (much to the shock of Sue Perkins), he was sent home.
Despite being blamed for what happened last night, Diana has now insisted that she wasn't at fault and has explained that what viewers saw was the result of "very bad editing". Talking to the Free Radio in the Black Country, Diana said: "It was utter chaos in there. We were all struggling a bit. We were allocating our freezer space, which you saw. Iain didn't blame me at all. If you knew me you'd know I don't have that sort of bone in my body really."
Insisting that she was surprised with how last night's episode played out, Diana continued to comment: "I was utterly confounded with that last night. It didn't happen like that. I found Iain's ice-cream in my freezer and Iain took it away. It was out for about 40 seconds. I think it was very bad editing. There is nothing I can do about it. I'm just stating my case.

"I've no idea why they did that. It's very unfortunate. I think the Bake Off is the worst for it. I'm positive about it because everything else I did last night was good. I think this is just something whipped up into a storm that wasn't there. We'll wait and see."
Having picked up on all the criticism that Diana received, Iain took to Twitter just moments ago and asked his fans and followers to stop blaming her. He wrote: "Guys no hard feelings now. Diana is a top lady and all us tent bakers are greats pals. Can't wait to tune into the rest of the series."
