Aaron Hernandez was already in prison awaiting trial for the murder of Odin Lloyd when investigators linked the former New England Patriots tight end to two other killings.
Hernandez was indicted today in Massachusetts where the DA's office presented its case that Hernandez committed two murders a year before he allegedly shot Odin execution style.
The prosecution presented an astonishing version of events, claiming that Hernandez did not know the two victims - Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado - before the night they were murdered.
They argued that Hernandez' decision to murder the two men in a drive-by shooting stemmed from an incident earlier in the same night in which one of the men bumped into Hernandez and spilled his drink.
The prosecution claims Hernandez became enraged after neither Abreu nor Furtado apologized for the spilled drink.
Security camera footage from that night in July of 2012 shows Hernandez angrily pacing outside of the club before the victims left. Abreu and Furtado reportedly had no idea that Hernandez was angry with them.
As expected, Hernandez entered a plea of non guilty. He will continue to be held without bail until his next court date on June 24.
If convicted, he is likely to face a lifetime behind bars.
O.J. Simpson was arrested for the murder of his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and the pizza guy. He was acquitted in quite the notorious trial.
