The Friday results are in...
Maleficent seems to have had a successful debut at the box office as the Angelina Jolie film dominated on Friday.
The Disney gothic film brought in $24.2 million on its first day in theaters. This includes the late night shows on Thursday, which brought in $4.2 million. This means that the film could possibly make $70 million by the end of the weekend, which would exceed expectations for the film.

Coming in second place was X-Men: Days of Future Past, which was in its second week at the theaters.
Unfortunately for Family Guy creator, Seth McFarlane, his new movie A Million Ways to Die in the West only brought in $6.1 million in its debut, and is projected to only bring in approximately $16 million for the whole weekend. This would mean that the film wouldn't break even, which would spell disaster for Universal.
In fourth place was Godzilla, which is now in it's third week of release. Rounding out the top five was Blended, the Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore comedy.
