She is suffering from the auto-immune disease...
Selena Gomez shocked the public when it was revealed that she visited a treatment center earlier this year. However, it was still unclear what exactly she had been suffering from at the time.
Although it's still unknown why she went to that treatment center, her grandfather has just given a clue as to what one of her problems is.
Ricardo Gomez spoke with Radar Online and confirmed that the singer was diagnosed with lupus "a couple of years ago," and also stated that, "She's in treatment. She's getting along pretty good.''

In the interview, he spoke about how concerned he is for his granddaughter's health, especially when he heard that she might be doing drugs.
"We just saw in some newspaper that she was doing drugs," Ricardo revealed. "I called her and said, [you] need to watch out …"
Although he stated she denied any drug use, it was clear to him that she was not doing well. He believes she works too hard.
"She was working a lot she says," he explained. "She was exhausted. She hardly takes some time out. There was some pressure, first because it's a lot of work. The doctor was telling her she needs to take some time out. It's just too much pressure what she's going through. It's just too much! She doesn't have a single day's break. … It's getting to the point with all this pressure …that it's too much."
He also believed that Selena's ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber added to her stress. He claimed that, "she was worried a lot about Justin."
Selena Gomez ended up canceling part of her tour in December 2013 as a result of her issues.
