Emma Stone Reveals Peter Pan Inspiration For The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Action Scenes
May 1st 2014, 15:10

Emma Stone has been chatting about shooting her painful action sequences in new movie The Amazing Spider-Man 2, admitting she had some fairytale inspiration for the scenes.

The 25-year-old plays Peter Parker/Spidey's love interest Gwen Stacy in Marc Webb's sequel, starring opposite real-life love Andrew Garfield as the Marvel hero.

During scenes which saw her soaring over New York City, Emma was strapped into safety harnesses, which wasn't exactly a pleasant experience.

Stone reveals that she looked to actress Cathy Rigby for inspiration for the scenes after her Tony Award winning theatrical performance in Peter Pan.

Asked about who she channelled for the role, she told 'LIVE with Kelly and Michael' today: ''I always wanted to be Cathy Rigby in Peter Pan so it felt a little bit like that.

''There's a lot of harnesses. [Stunt double] Jen Caputo would come into my trailer and just gear me up and it would have to be tighter than you can possibly imagine already. Then, they hoist you and there's a lot of bruising. But it's good bruising because you're like Cathy Rigby.''

Crowds were soon gathering as Emma and the cast shot scenes in Manhattan's famous landmarks last year, with the actress remarking of the experience: ''It was pretty cool. It's a pretty busy place and you're shooting in all these location that people know like Union Square or Chinatown, you know, there's a lot of people behind the barricade.''

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits US cinemas this weekend and is out in UK cinemas now.
