He has suffered a tragic few months.
So friends were clearly pleased to see Thomas Cohen back on the social circuit, this weekend.
The father of two, who lost his wife Peaches Geldof in April, was spotted at Nick Grimshaw's 30th birthday party in London's Shoreditch House.

With his trademark long hair, the musician cut a casual figure in straight-leg jeans and a military coat.
He carried a tan-coloured hat and wore brown leather shoes with a buckle.
Despite the tragic events which have struck his life - and that of their two children - the widower was clearly comfortable being out and about.

The sighting comes just a few weeks after the official inquest into Peaches' death revealed she died of a heroin overdose ten times stronger than what killed her mother, Paula Yates.
Thomas, 24, found his wife slumped dead on a bed with puncture marks and almost 80 syringes were scattered in their home.
She had been looking after their baby son Phaedra, who was left alone for up to 17 hours.

Also seen joining the gathering was Pixie Geldof, Peaches' sister, who was understandably downcast.
Wearing a summery dress and sporting what appeared to be a healthy tan, the model and socialite avoided eye-contact with passers-by.
Daisy Lowe was also there with celebrity pals Alexa Chung and Miquita Oliver.
