Actress Lindsay Lohan has spoken about her reaction to James Franco's short story about her for the first time.
Discussing her reaction, the actress who is about to make her theatrical debut in Speed-The-Plow, told MailOnline: 'I don't think about it. When people say things about other people I don't think it's necessary, I've never talked about anyone else and I never will.'
Earlier this year fellow actor James published a short story in response to his name featuring on her leaked 'sex list'.

Tough time: Lindsay Lohan has opened up about her very private sex tape being leaked
The list was created as part of her treatment at the Betty Ford clinic and like everything else that goes on there during treatment; it was supposed to remain private.
Looking emotional as she recalled the horrendous breach of security, she told us while we chatted ahead of her shoot for September's Wonderland magazine: 'Here's the thing it's very short and very simple. I was in Betty Ford at the time.
'I was in AA and that's a really personal thing and there are steps and processes that you go through. I don't want to say too much because there is anonymity between people and mine was broken.
Hitting back: James Franco denied he had slept with Lindsay by writing a short story
Just fooling around: Lindsay and James enjoyed a cameo appearance in the 2006 comedy The Holiday in a fake trailer that appeared in the movie
'I was moving to go back to New York from LA. I had some friends over that I probably should have questioned a bit but I don't like to see the bad in people, I like to see the good, so I ignored it and then someone must have stolen it and that's a really personal thing, that's something I would never do to anyone.
Show time: Lindsay is set to make her theatrical debut in September
'That goes to one person and then it gets ripped up and then it's done. So it was really violating. I've been robbed by kids, a lot of things like that have happened to me in my life and that didn't feel very good and I've lost friends from that and that's really unfortunate.
She added: 'That's one of the hardest steps, that's something that is uncomfortable to have to say to anyone, let alone for it to be posted everywhere, so it's not a joke, it wasn't funny, it was cruel, it's bad karma for whoever did it. It was sh***y.'
The list caused a media frenzy when it was leaked in March of this year, as it featured the name of 36 very famous men including Adam Levine, Zac Efron, Justin Timberlake and Joaquin Phoenix.
While many of the men chose to remain quiet about the leak, which was clearly distressing for Lindsay and came at a time when she was trying to get her life back on track, one man decided to refute it publically.
The actor – James Franco - wrote a short story for Vice Magazine, entitled Bungalow 89 - which concerns a character called Lindsay, who shares more than few personality traits with Miss Lohan.
The tale begins: 'She was a Hollywood girl, but a damaged one. Let's call this girl Lindsay'.
When we asked Lindsay how she felt about such a public method of denial, she told us: 'I don't think about it. When people say things about other people I don't think it's necessary, I've never talked about anyone else and I never will.'
Lindsay went on to say how different things have become during her time in limelight.
'When I started working we didn't have Twitter, we didn't have any of this s***, it's a different world now. We didn't have instagram, we didn't have camera phones for god sake, it's really different now, she shared.
'If someone wants to do that for their own reasons there's nothing to say, I'm not in their head. I would never do that. I didn't read it.'
Ready for her close up: Lindsay Lohan spoke to MailOnline ahead of her shoot for Wodnerland magazine
Fortunately the actress, who has recently relocated to London, has a group of close friends around her, whom she doesn't need to justify herself to.
She told us: 'Friends that I have in my life and I'm fine with having very few friends because I can trust them with my life and they are there for me if I need them.
'My friends don't bring that stuff up to me because they are with me and they know the truth and they know what's happened, and why bring up something that might hurt your friend, so I don't pay attention to it.

Moving on: Lindsay has put the drama of the start of the year behind her and is concentrating on her acting career
'Sometimes unfortunately I have to but I think it's just about surrounding yourself with the right people which for a long time I just wanted people around me, I didn't care who it was because I was filming or on set for months and then when it ends it gets really lonely and then when I am dealing with court stuff and I can't go out at night, all everyone does is go out at night – the people that I know. I'm young, I was 17, I didn't have a collage life, I didn't get to experience frat parties or anything then that's all I'm doing.
She concluded: 'I put myself in those positions but I won't say there are things I wouldn't change in my life but I also don't have any regrets because I wouldn't have come to the place I am today and it sounds cliché and cheesy but it's the truth.'
Speed-The-Plow is showing at London's Playhouse Theatre from September 24 for a strictly limited run. Visit the ATG website for more information.
