The network will air a TV movie about Brittany's life next month...
Sharon Murphy, the mother of late actress Brittany Murphy says that she has not been contacted or consulted about the Lifetime TV movie set to air next month about the life and death of her daughter. In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, a spokesperson for Sharon, who has dealt with accusations that she had something to do with the actress' death in December 2009, made it clear that she was not happy about the production or release of the biopic.
"Sharon Murphy has said she was not consulted for the movie and has not cooperated with the production in any way," the site reported.

The TV movie, which will star Amanda Fuller of Grey's Anatomy fame in the lead role of Brittany, is set to air on September 6. The two-hour movie will cover Brittany's childhood, her rise to stardom and her untimely death at the age of 32. THR reports that the movie will also cover the death of Brittany's husband, Simon Monjack, who died five months after Brittany from similar causes, and the investigations that followed after their deaths.

It is odd that Sharon, who was very close to her daughter, was not asked to be part of the TV movie. In 2013, she penned a guest column for THR in which she talked about the relationship she shared with Brittany.
"I raised Brittany alone. We didn't have much at first, but we always had each other," she wrote. "My daughter and I were our only family, and we were inseparable and always there for each other in good times and bad. She never left my side as I battled cancer twice, and I was there for her through the trials and tribulations of her beautiful life and career."
The network has not revealed who it used as its source for the material of the movie's script.
