Secret Cinema, the London based film company is urging fans of Robin Williams across the world, to join them this Friday by screening of one of his most iconic films, The Dead Poets Society.
There has been an outpouring of grief across the world this week following the news that Williams, 63 had taken his own life. On Wednesday Secret Cinema announced they would be putting on a special event, in his memory, this Friday in East London with all profits from the event going to mental health charity, Mind.
The event sold out in under ten minutes and now organisers are urging fans to screen their own showing of the movie, to remember the beloved actor.
Fabien Riggall, Founder and Director of Secret Cinema, told The Telegraph: "We are looking for people everywhere to join us in staging a screening to honour the memory and amazing light of Robin Williams.
"He inspired so much in so many of us, I believe cinema should give back to those leading lights who give so much."
Encouraging venues and organisers to get in touch with them, the organisation quoted one of the most famous lines from the actor.
Fans have been finding their own ways to pay tribute to Robin this week. On Broadway last night, where Williams had tread the boards, they dimmed the lights in memory of one of acting's brightest stars.
The cast of Aladdin also performed a special rendition of 'Friend Like Me', which Williams performed as the Genie in the Disney movie.
