Miley Cyrus seemed surprised when she was crowned the winner of Best Video at this year's MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday and sent a homeless man to deliver her acceptance speech, but speculation has arisen that the star actually knew she would win prior to the awards bash taking place.
The controversial pop star sat in the front row during the star-studded ceremony at The Forum in Inglewood, California, as she was announced as the winner of the night's biggest award for her x-rated 'Wrecking Ball' video.

Instead of going up to the stage to collect the award herself, Miley, 21 sent Jesse Helt instead. Was the stunt pre-planned though?
During a red carpet pre-show interview with MTV's Sway, Miley revealed: "There's something I'm doing that's really special that I'm really excited about, which I'm not gonna say, I'm saving it 'til the end so it doesn't get canned, but I think it's gonna make a different kind of impression, so it's gonna be cool."
Either she was pretty confident that she'd walk away as a winner or she knew she would scoop the big award?
That's not all though as the NY Times reports that when Katy Perry had tried to give Jesse alcohol during the ceremony, Miley told her: "No, this kid has to go read a speech."
It's always suspected that winners are sometimes told of their triumphs before the actual ceremony, but does this damage the integrity of the VMAs?
Either way, Jesse's speech was definitely a highlight of the night!
