David's publicist confirmed the happy news to MailOnline just hours after David proposed on Wednesday.
It came just six days after Courteney Cox confirmed reports she is to marry her boyfriend of eight months, Johnny McDaid.

E! News reported that David popped the question during a family dinner with their two-month-old son and David and Courteney's daughter Coco, 10, at Mastro's steakhouse in Malibu.
Wearing jeans and a white T-shirt, David kept it casual when it came to popping the question on the edge of the water.
Meanwhile, his bride to be wore an equally-casual denim shirt with floor-length skirt.

As he presented a boxed ring, she could be seen looking delighted at the wedding band.
The pair exchanged a long, intimate hig and were also joined for the moment by David's daughter Coco and new-born son, Charlie.

A source told People: 'He wanted his family to be with him when he did it. The source added that 'they are going to vacation in Aspen to celebrate'.
MailOnline has learned that David had already planned the Aspen trip before the proposal as he and business partner John Terizan will host a party at Bootsy Bellows, an outpost of their famed West Hollywood hotspot.
The duo will host the Aspen Peak Magazine 10th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday night.

David, 42, and the 33-year-old Entertainment Tonight correspondent first started dating in 2011 and after a brief split in 2012 have been solid ever since.
They welcomed Charlie in April with David's representative announcing the birth by saying: 'Mom, dad and baby are doing well. They appreciate all of your well wishes and thank you for respecting their privacy at this time.'
David told Us Weekly before the birth of his excitement at becoming a dad again.

On her feelings toward her Scream co-star, Courteney told More magazine: 'When you love someone, you want them to be happy, even if it's not with you.
'In divorce you always have regrets. We were married for a long time, so it's not like we didn't try.
'Obviously, kids always want their parents to be together. But as divorces go, this is the best one we could provide.'
