Orange Is The New Black swept the board at this week's Emmy nominations receiving a staggering 12 nods all in all, with leading lady Taylor Schilling recognised in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category.
The actress has now shared the rather bizarre moment she discovered she'd been nominated for the prestigious prize, revealing that she almost missed the whole thing!

Talking to People magazine, the star who plays inmate Piper Chapman in the hit Netflix series, revealed: "I was sitting in my apartment in New York, and I needed to go, but I realised I also was going to need to acknowledge the Emmy nominations before I left."
She then decided to switch her phone off as she explains she just didn't want to be at home when she got the call.
"I didn't really want to be at home so I just walked to the river, which is really close to my house, and then I took my phone off airplane mode and called my publicist. For some reason it was very important to me to be outside."

Five other ladies from the show also earned nods for their acclaimed performances, so you can just imagine the excitement on set.
"It was insanity. Everybody came to set. The entire cast came." Instead of cracking open the champers, Taylor says "there were lots of bowls of oranges," she revealed giggling. "People were putting them down their shirts. I put them down my shirt. They were throwing them, we were bouncing them off walls. It was bonkers." Sounds bonkers Taylor!

So will she be wearing orange to the glittering ceremony? Hell no, she assures, joking: "Oh my god. Someone would have the right to throw eggs at me if I wear orange." Finally Taylor added: "It was a fantastic day. I am so proud of our show. I could not be more proud of everyone."
But Taylor's got some pretty stiff competition in the Leading Comedy Actress category as she'll be battling it out with Lena Dunham (Girls), Melissa McCarthy (Mike & Molly), Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) and last year's winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep).
We've got our fingers crossed for you ladies!
