Iggy Azalea Beats Magic! As 'Fancy' Is Officially Named This Year's Song Of The Summer
Sep 4th 2014, 10:14, by Becca Longmire

Not only did Iggy Azalea feat. Charli XCX's 'Fancy' take the charts by storm when it was released earlier this year, but it's also now been named Billboard's top Song of the Summer for 2014. Urgh - is summer REALLY over already?

The Billboard running tally tracks the most popular songs based on cumulative performance on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 - running from Memorial Day all the way through to Labor Day - and now Iggy can give herself a big pat on the back, because 'Fancy' has only gone and bagged the top spot, after owning the charts for seven weeks.

Not only did it rule that number one spot over the summer, but it also remained in the weekly Hot 100's top five for another six weeks after its reign. Not bad, eh?

Fancy managed to beat Reggae sensations Magic! in the Song of the Summer listings after their track 'Rude' knocked Iggy off the top spot, remaining there for six weeks throughout July/August. But Iggy is back alongside Ariana Grande and their track 'Problem' sits at number three. Twice in the top five! Talk about Girl Power.

But, despite the singer's collaboration with Grande being a huge success, during a recent interview with Grammy.com, Iggy admitted that she'd previously not wanted to work with the pint-sized popstar because she thought that she was too young.

"I felt that my music was…so risqué…I didn't feel like it was appropriate…but then I actually met her and found out that she's a grown up and I was like 'oh okay'," she said.

Thank goodness for that - imagine a world without Problem.
