Rita Ora is still fond of her recent chart-topping single 'I Will Never Let You Down' despite the fact that it was written by her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris, revealing it reminds her of the happier times they shared while they were blissfully in love.
The 'Black Widow' singer made a triumphant return to the charts earlier this year with the infectious pop single which enjoyed a couple of weeks at number one, and it seemed to be a sweet collaboration between Rita and her then-beau Calvin, who wrote and produced the track, however, their split was announced just weeks later making for a very awkward situation. While most would assume Rita, 23, would find it difficult to listen to the single which was created during a happy time in their relationship, the singer says that couldn't be further from the truth.
Speaking to the Metro, the singer explained: "At that time, the song came from a good place so it always reminds me of that place. And I love the song." She added of her upcoming second album: "I've written a lot of the songs and they are as honest as possible. It's about my love life and what I love to do and how I love to go out and all that stuff."

It wasn't completely amicable between Rita and Calvin, 30, recently though as the Scottish DJ scuppered her chances of performing at the Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles last month when he banned her from singing 'I Will Never Let You Down.' It seemed to be a rather bitter move towards his ex but Rita explained that he has every right to do what he wants with the song as he owns the track.
In an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show days after the awards ceremony, Rita said: "You should ask him. For anybody who doesn't understand how it works, he wrote and produced the song. So he has to approve anything TV-wise for anybody who doesn't get it. And obviously he owns the rights to it and he didn't approve the Teen Choice Awards." However, Calvin blasted back at the reports via Twitter, telling his followers: "You'll only know 1 side of the story RE Teen choice awards because I choose not to talk to the papers about every aspect of my personal life."
Rita is expected to release her untitled second album in 2015 although it's not yet known if it will feature 'I Will Never Let You Down.'
