George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin will marry in Venice on Monday (Sept. 29) and while we're sure they want to keep their special day as quiet as possible, it's already having an impact on the city, with part of the historical Grand Canal near the Cavalli Palace, will be shut to accommodate the Hollywood wedding.
The infamous bachelor, who proposed to his British girlfriend in April after a six month whirlwind romance, has long been a fan of Italy and has a home in Lake Como, but has chosen Venice for his big day.
Giving away the wedding's location, city officials issued an order to close walkways leading to the Palazzo Cavalli-Franchetti for two hours on Monday, referring to the event as "the George Clooney wedding". A source reportedly told the New York Post that the city police had asked for the closure to avoid crowds gathering around the historic building, eager to get a glimpse of the bride and groom.

The Cavalli Palace, built in 1555 and overlooking the Rialto Bridge, is predominately used for events now and does cater for civil marriage ceremonies. It's believed the couple will officially marry here, but could still hold another service somewhere a little more private.
Amal Alamuddin arrived in Italy today ahead of her big day. She was said to be carrying an Alexander McQueen bag, sparking speculation the designer of her wedding dress could be Sarah Burton.
The stunning Cavalli Palace
If the lawyer has gone with McQueen she's in safe hands, Sarah Burton was behind Kate Middleton's stunning wedding gown when she tied the knot with Prince William in 2011.
