Liam Payne Gun Photo, Duck Dynasty Visit Draw Criticism From Fans on Twitter

When the Liam Payne nude photo scandal erupted earlier this week, the One Direction singer didn't exactly handle it in the smoothest fashion.

Liam's insistence that he's "100% NOT gay" struck some fans as a bit homophobic.

Now it looks like we should brace ourselves for more politically incorrect blame avoidance, as Liam is involved in yet another photo controversy, and this time, there's no denying that he's the one in the pic:

Liam Payne Gun Photo

Liam and a friend visited the Robertson family of Duck Dynasty fame this week and some fans did not react kindly to the sight of Liam holding a firearm.

"It's not funny to hold a gun, because every day thousands of people die by gunfire," tweeted one young fan.

"Thanks for glamorizing America's gun crisis that literally kills countless numbers of innocent people every day," wrote another.

While both of those tweets might be a bit exaggerated, the photo was certainly ill-timed.

Dynasty star Phil Robertson's homophobic views came to light last year. Shortly thereafter, Payne tweeted his support of the Robertsons and received major backlash from fans.

So hanging with the Robertsons just days after coming under fire for possibly anti-gay comments was probably not the smartest move on Liam's part.

It's a complex situation, and there's no clear cut answer for how Liam should deal with the negative press. But one thing everyone can agree on is that dude in the grey should probably stop pointing a gun at that girl's head.
