Benedict Cumberbatch went to the dark side for his Star Trek: Into Darkness role last summer, but don't expect to see the Sherlock star taking on another villainous part in the forthcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice movie.
The actor is constantly fighting back against rumours. So far this year we've heard he's going to pop up in the new Star Wars movie, while lately everyone's getting excited over a possible cameo in DC Comic and Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman.
Benedict though has laughed off the reports. Speaking to the BBC at last night's GQ Men of the Year awards, the actor seemed bemused by the Batman V Superman speculation, insisting: "That's a fun one, I've not heard that one until tonight."
There could be some truth in the rumours though that the Brit will team up with DC Comics for another movie. It's been reported that Benedict is in the frame to play the Martian Manhunter in The Justice League film, and the actor's response to that rumour at last night's event was very telling. "I'm going to let that rumour run," he simply teased.
Benedict was certainly dressed for the dark side at the GQ Awards (WENN)
The Martian Manhunter is known in the DC Comics for his supernatural abilities include telepathy, shape-shifting and super speed, with Warner Bros reportedly prepping the film for a 2017 release date.
