Robert Pattinson was back in the Big Smoke for the premiere of The Rover Wednesday night, looking hotter than ever on the red carpet.

The British actor looked effortlessly cool in a red suede bomber jacket, unbuttoned blue shirt and white vest with his hair messily styled and sporting some stylish stubble.

Robert was joined by his co-star Guy Pearce as they attended the screening and Q&A of their new film at London's BFI Southbank.

The Rover continues Robert's path towards roles in less mainstream movies since his was shot to stardom in the Twilight franchise as vampire Edward Cullen.

The actor certainly recognises that his latest film, set in a post-apocalyptic Australia, might not appeal to Twihards.

'I'm curious to know whether people who liked the Twilight movies will come and see things like The Rover,' Robert said in a recent interview.

'Strangely, it was Nick Cave who got me out of it,' Guy told GQ Australia. 'The phone rang at home and of course I was stoned and didn't answer.

'This big baritone voice started on the answering machine: 'Look I'm sorry to be calling you at home, Guy. It's Nick Cave. We've sent you a script and I dunno if you're interested …' By now I was giggling under the sofa going, "F**k man, it's Nick Cave".'
