Taylor Swift has dominated the country and pop charts since 2006. She will impart the wisdom she has acquired in that eight-year span to The Voice contestants this upcoming season.
The Shake It Off singer will serve as an advisor on the NBC singing-competition series, according to Us Weekly. Coldplay's Chris Martin held the same position last season.

"Taylor was an absolute pleasure to work with," a source told Us. She will help mentor contestants on all four coaches' teams. "She had great feedback for all the contestants. She made for an amazing mentor."
Taylor has collected seven Grammy awards and she is the youngest recipient of the Album of the Year award for 2009's Fearless. Her recent single Shake It Off hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and she's the best-selling digital music artist ever.
Beyond the numbers, Taylor can share a number of tips for The Voice's future stars.
1. How to write a not so subtle song about an ex love:
Taylor has a song written for most of her ex-boyfriends. She doesn't always drop names, but context clues have given fans a pretty good idea what songs are about Taylor Lautner, Harry Styles and Jake Gyllenhaal.
2. How to gracefully accept an award and then be rudely interrupted by Kanye West:
The young star faced her most challenging moment at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when rapper Kanye West hijacked her acceptance speech for the Best Female Video award. Taylor clearly was rattled by the experience but gave an incredible performance minutes later.
3. How to make a successful transition from country to pop music:
The songstress made her first mark in the music industry as a country princess. Her self-titled debut album topped the Top Country Albums chart for 24 non-consecutive weeks and her third single Our Song reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs. Her new album 1989, out this fall, will feature an album list full of just pop songs.

This season's coaches include mainstays Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, who welcome new coaches Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams. The coaches also will each have a personal advisor for their contestants.
Stevie Wonder will work with Adam, Little Big Town will help Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys will sit down with Pharrell's mentees. Gwen will team up with her husband Gavin Rossdale for the competition.
The Voice premieres on Monday Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. on NBC. Taylor will release her new album 1989 on Oct. 27.
