Veteran broadcaster Barbara Walters is believed to be donating some of her personal archives from her five decades in journalism to Sarah Lawrence College, her alma mater.
Items include tapes, papers and photos, and she wants to hand them to the school which helped give her the skills necessary to become a successful journalist, according to latest reports.
Walters made the special announcement in a surprise appearance at the college on Friday, where she told students the place was somewhere she "was not afraid to ask questions", reports Journal News.

The 84-year-old star, even recalled the moment she interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin, where she asked him if he had ever killed anyone.
"He said, 'No, that was not my department'," she revealed. "So later, several people said, 'Where did you get the nerve to ask a question like that?'
"And I said, 'It's easy. I went to a college where I was not afraid to ask questions. And this is that college. That is my contribution to world peace."
Walters' final episode as co-host of U.S. talk show, The View, aired earlier this month but she will continue to stay on as executive producer.
