Pixie Lott is the 11th confirmed contestant of Strictly Come Dancing 2014; becoming the third popstar to join the bill this year.
The 'Lay Me Down' singer, whose third album was released earlier this month, confirmed the signing via Twitter today (August 27) while the official Strictly feed posted a Vine to the same effect.
With three number one singles to her name, childhood West End experience and prior training at Italia Conti, Pixie is certainly no stranger to dancing; but, as we've seen in previous years, ballroom can prove to be an entirely different beast for many pop-friendly competitors. The 23-year-old will face Frankie Bridge, whose band The Saturdays she supported on tour when first making her breakthrough; Scott Mills, Jake Wood, Alison Hammond, Mark Wright, Sunetra Sarker, Thom Evans, Steve Backshall, Simon Webbe and Judy Murray when it all kicks off in September.
Pixie burst onto the scene in 2009 with two Number One hits, 'Mama Do' and 'Boys and Girls'. Her debut album Turn It Up spent over a year in the charts and sold upwards of 800,000 copies in the UK alone; spawning a further four Top 20 hits. Her second album, Young Foolish Happy, yielded another three; including the No1 hit 'All About Tonight'. Earlier this year she returned with 'Nasty', and her eponymous LP reached No15 on the UK album chart a fortnight ago before slipping down to No94 in the space of a week.

Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly host the new series of the show, which airs its special launch episode on Sunday, September 7. The competition will then kick off later the same month and roll on until Christmas.
Only four stars are left to be confirmed, and if rumours are to be believed then they could well be Caroline Flack of The Xtra Factor fame, Ross Kemp and Masterchef's Greg Wallace.
