These are the facts: Beyonce and Jay-Z did not attend the May 24 wedding of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
This is the rumor: the snub was all based on Queen Bey wishing to maintain her view of the proper Hollywood hierarchy.
"Beyonce wasn't going to allow a Kardashian to socially climb her," an insider tells Page Six of The New York Post. "[Bey and Jay] are guarding like hell their status."
It had originally been reported that Jay-Z would serve as Kanye's Best Man - but the rapper didn't even make an appearance at his Watch the Throne colleague's nuptials, a diss Kanye chose to ignore in a recent rambling interview.
"Jay didn't want Kanye with Kim. He thinks it's bad for business," a source says of the frequent music collaborators. "I think Jay lost a little respect for Kanye [when he married Kim]."
While Kardashian and Beyonce have said very little about their alleged feud in public, many believe the former threw shade at the latter in an Instagram post last week.
Kardashian celebrated Throwback Thursday by posting a picture of her husband in a ski mask, referring to Kanye as a "#StyleIcon" and seeming to take a jab at Jay-Z and Beyonce in the process.
The passive aggressive message here? Kanye made wearing a mask cool LONG before you two did the same for your On the Run tour art.
Back in March, Radar Online wrote that Beyonce and Jay-Z didn't approve of the crazy lengths to which Kim and Kanye went for their big day.
"Jay and Beyonce's wedding was shrouded in secrecy and extreme lengths were made to make sure their wedding was an intimate affair for friends and family, only," the site said. "This will be the complete opposite. She thinks it's just tacky."
Instead of jetting to Italy in late May, Music's First Couple enjoyed a quiet weekend in The Hamptons instead.
