Sarah says the daytime talk show needs a host like her...

Sarah Palin is no stranger to working on television. The politician had her own reality show, Sarah Palin's Alaska, in 2010, and currently hosts the patriotic travel show Amazing America with Sarah Palin, but it appears she may have her sights set on yet another job—hosting The View! The daytime talk show currently has several open hosting slots, as hosts Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd announced that they will be leaving the show.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sarah said she may be just what the show needs in a host.

"I hear everyone recently got canned from The View, maybe a show like that needs a punch of reality and a voice of reason from America's heartland to knock some humble sense into their scripts," she said. "You know, someone willing to go rogue."

The View, which saw host Barbara Walters retire in May, currently only has one host, Whoopi Goldberg, signed on for when the show returns for its next season on September 15. Should Sarah fill one of the open seats at the hosting table, she seems to already know what she'd like to bring to the show.

"It'd be so much fun to shake it up taking on issues that make audiences objectively consider all sides, and I'd do it with my own real-life groundedness, candor and commonsense that I'm known for," she told THR. "Media needs that today, versus the condescension that oozes from TV and radio."

On Monday's episode of The View, Jenny McCarthy announced that the reason she's leaving the daytime talk show.

"Upon consideration, I took a new job which allows me to do what I do best, which is talk without interrupting anyone," she told viewers. "I love the fans that supported us, so stay tuned—even if it does compete with 'The View.'"

Sherri Shepherd was vague on her future plans.

"I have plans, and I plan to come back to promote the work," she said during Monday's episode.

Sarah is not the only one that would like to be considered to fill Sherri and Jenny's open chairs. According to reports, current Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman is in talks to join the show, although she has yet to confirm or deny the rumor.
