Multiple sources have now confirmed that Gelila Bekele is pregnant with Tyler Perry's baby.
It'll be the 45-year-old media mogul's first child, and one insider described Perry as "thrilled over the moon."
A guest at Perry's recent birthday party stated that Tyler hinted that Bekele is already six or seven months along:
"He said he had to get used to not getting a lot of sleep because his life is about to change in a big way," the source said. "He said, 'Some of you know what I'm talking about.'"
But will the man behind Madea settle down and marry his longtime on, off girlfriend? Those closest to Perry seem to believe the prolific writer, actor, and filmmaker has no interest in becoming a husband:
Perry's bleak views on marriage were evident in his 2013 film Temptation, in which a wife steps out on her husband with disastrous consequences for all involved.
It's even been suggested that the film was informed by his relationship with Bekele, as well as memories from Perry's own troubled childhood.
At the moment, there's no evidence that Perry and Bekele are even still dating, much less planning a wedding.
Many were surprised to learn that the deeply religious Perry may soon have a child out of wedlock, but comments he made in an interview last year may shed some light in his views on family life:
"I'm not so sure, with this kind of work ethic, what kind of husband I will be," Perry said. "I don't know about marriage as much as I know I'd be a great father."
Sorry, Gelila. Doesn't sound like Tyler's planning to put a ring on it any time soon.
