Chris Brown has proved that it is possible to maintain a friendship with your ex's family as the 'Loyal' singer has been pictured hanging out with Rihanna's father Ronald Fenty at a celebrity basketball game recently, despite the former couple's turbulent relationship history. Does this mean Chris and RiRi are still in contact?
The surprising photos, which have been circulating online over the last week, were reportedly taken at the Summer Classic Charity Basketball Game at Brooklyn's Barclays Center in NYC on August 21. They show Chris wrapping his arm around Ronald's shoulders while pointing at him, while Ronald appears to have taken a close-up selfie of the pair. It's not known who posted the photos but it's clear they were taken at the star-studded game with Chris wearing the same basketball kit he was pictured in in the official photos.
Interestingly, Rihanna, 26, was also at the same basketball game but her interaction with Chris - or lack of - was certainly more frosty with the former lovebirds making sure to avoid eye contact with each other, even as Chris greeted others seated near her courtside. At one point though, the 'Diamonds' singer was seen appearing to give her ex-boyfriend a cold stare as he played on the court shooting hoops.

Considering Chris, 25, is currently dating model Karrueche Tran and his friendship with Rihanna appears to be non-existent, it will come as a huge surprise that he's still on good terms with her father Ronald, although the patriarch has previously spoken highly of the R&B singer despite his brutal attack on Rihanna in 2009 which saw Chris convicted of domestic assault.
In an interview with In Touch in 2012, Ronald said of Breezy: "I love Chris, man. He's got so much charisma. And he's always had so much respect for me. That's what I love about him. He's always shown me respect. I think everyone makes mistakes and they shouldn't be held to them forever. Everyone should be forgiven once. There's a lot more to Chris than the whole world knows. I know they love each other. They always have. She's happiest when she's around him, and as long as she's happy, I am happy and the whole world should be too."

Ronald, who split from Rihanna's mother Monica when she was a child, also allegedly told The Sun last year: "I'm still his No1 fan — I still like Chris regardless. They have a very passionate relationship but if they split up it does not mean it's for ever with them. In a couple of months they'll be back together."
