Strictly Come Dancing: Pixie Lott Hits Back At 'Favourite To Win' Tag
Sep 5th 2014, 11:03

The show hasn't even begun yet, but Pixie Lott has already been labelled as one of the favourites to win Strictly Come Dancing. And it's a tag that the singer isn't too happy with because she just wants to have fun on the show.

Having been asked about her thoughts on the reports that she's been tipped for victory, Pixie told EntertainmentWise: "I don't really like that though because I don't know. I don't think you can pay attention to that because it always changes and you never know what's going to happen. I don't want to put any pressure on anyone. I'm just going to have fun and enjoy myself and have a good time."

Whilst Pixie didn't want to be linked to the reports that she's a favourite to win, the 'All About Tonight' hitmaker did acknowledge that she may have a slight advantage because she has danced before. The star explained: "Well, I guess. I danced at school so I not only did music, I did dance and drama but music is what took over and that's what I wanted to do. So it was never something that I focused on.

"But I obviously did do it at school and there's a few other people here who have done the same so I'm not against everyone. But then there are a few who haven't even got any dancing at all."

As Pixie, noted, she's not the only one in this year's competition that has a dancing background as Blue band member Simon Webbe and The Saturdays' Frankie Bridge have been known to bust a few moves during performances with their respective bands. Admitting that he has a bit of an advantage, Simon told us: "Being in groups and stuff, you do tend to pick up dance routines but this is a different standard. This is the guru of dance, so for us this is a challenge for us as individuals and I'm here to learn something as well."

Despite having the advantage of knowing how to dance, Frankie was quick to note that Strictly is a different realm. On the subject of her nerves, the star who has a son with footballer Wayne Bridge, said: "I'm a bit scared. You've only got one go of it every time and I think it's one of those things that can go perfectly in rehearsals every time and them you get out there and you do it live and you don't know what's going to happen once the nerves kick in. We're used to doing live performances, but you've got other people to hide behind if there's a bit you don't feel as confidant about. But [with Strictly Come Dancing] you're fully thrown at it but at least you've got one go of it and what ever happens happens."
