Open Up To The Public On Your 'Corporate' Marriage: Akon's Advice For Beyonce And Jay Z
Aug 6th 2014, 06:19

By Rebecca Lawrence On August 6, 2014

Akon may be already be a successful singer and producer, but now we reckon he could turn his hand to celebrity marriage counselling, after he offered Jay Z and Beyonce some pretty good advice on how to squash the split rumours.

Speaking to TMZ, the 41-year-old suggested that the couple's fiercely guarded privacy was to blame for the drama, with the marriage coming across as "corporate."

"Their relationship has been more of a business to the outside world than an actual relationship," he said.

"Now, to them, it may be a relationship, but it was presented to the world...and it feels more corporate...

"If you become a public figure and you have a relationship, your relationship also becomes public, so if you don't open up to the public and let people understand what this is, they will naturally speculate, and those speculations are going to be completely opposite, completely wrong of what really be happening. And, according to the 'Lonely' hitmaker, the only way the couple will shake the rumours will be by responding to them.

"Sure, it's no one's business, but it becomes a business of the public when you're a person of public interest," he mused.

But Akon did have some good news for the pair, claiming that the drama will ultimately result in better music.

"What they going through is gonna make great music, it's gonna make better music, believe it or not, because now they have more content to actually speak about because they're not the only ones dealing with it. People are dealing with exactly the same thing."
