The last time the Knowles sisters went to a high profile event, Solange ended up fighting with Jay-Z in an elevator, so we're not too surprised at reports she didn't join in the Carter family love-in at the MTV VMAs on Sunday night, where her sister performed a 20 minute-medley of her latest album.
Solange walked the red carpet, but according to the New York Post didn't sit with Bey, Jay and their daughter Blue Ivy, during the award show. The little girl balanced on her dad's lap during the Drunk In Love star's performance and later was brought up on stage for a group hug as she accepted the Michael Jackson Vanguard award 2014.

The Carters sat with a very pregnant Kelly Rowland, but insiders claim Solange was intentionally seated elsewhere in the audience. Sources told the Post she wasn't allowed to get "anywhere near Jay and Bey".

Clearly hoping to avoid any repeat of the Met Ball drama, the couple apparently skipped the after-parties to head home for a quiet night instead, after the ceremony had ended.
Probably a good idea, we all know how Solange can throw a punch. The couple were reportedly crashing at BFF Gwyneth Paltrow's Los Angeles pad, during their time on the West Coast. That's what friends are for!

The VMA performance did a good effort to silence claims of a split. Bey was crying, Solange was dancing and rapper Jay was holding it all together. Since the infamous Solange fight, there have been rumours every week that the power couple were heading for a break-up.
Making it clear to the haters, the Carters are stronger than ever, Beyonce posted this Instagram video following the ceremony:
