Whilst celebrities were once mocked for their unusual baby names - think Blue Ivy, Apple and Bear Blaze – it seems the public are now opting for the bizarre trend, naming their children after Game of Thrones characters.
The hit fantasy TV series has inspired hundreds of baby names, with records from 2012 showing there were 146 American girls named 'Khaleesi' – the title Emilia Clarke's character is given after marrying a Dothraki leader, meaning 'queen'.

Her given name of 'Daenerys' didn't have quite the same impact but was still chosen for 21 newborns.
And whilst the UK hasn't been quite as taken by the trend, there were still 21 Khaleesis registered in Britain.
Ayra, played by Maisie Williams, has also been a hit, with 104 UK babies named after her, and it even became the fastest-growing baby name in the US, rising in rank from 711th to 413th.
There were three 'Catelyns', named after the Lady of Winterfell, and four girls called Sansa, taken from the name of Lord and Lady Stark's eldest daughter.

The boys weren't forgotten about either, with 15 named Theon, the son and heir of King Balon Greyjoy, and eight called Bran, another child of the Starks.
And even the dwarf Tyrion Lannister inspired parents, with four baby boys named Tyrion after the most prominent character in the show.
