Jane Lynch has responded to reports that Naya Rivera has been fired from Glee although her comments appear to be rather ambiguous, with the actress describing the news as "upsetting" but then appearing to be unaware of the rumours.
Naya, who has played Santana Lopez on the hit Fox show since 2009, was reported to have been left out of filming for the final episode of the fifth season following recent allegations that she and co-star Lea Michele were feuding on set.

Lynch, who plays Sue Sylvester, has addressed the reports when quizzed by TMZ but her comments have sparked more confusion on the scandal. When asked about the falsely reported firing, Lynch said: "Was that announced? Yeah, it's upsetting."
After the reporter relayed the reports to her, Lynch replied: "Oh, is she [fired]? Okay. Was that like an announcement?" before replying: "Of course," when asked if the show was able to carry on without Naya.
It was recently claimed that Naya and Lea had a massive falling out on set of the musical drama, but Lynch was unwilling to address those rumours, stating: "I'm not gonna talk about that."
A rep for Naya has confirmed that she is still part of the Glee cast (Cousart/JFXimages/WENN.com)
She added: "You're asking me about drama that, first of all, you're making up, that I'm not even involved in."
A rep for Naya denied the claims that she had been axed from the show, telling E! News: "[Naya] isn't fired and her not being in the finale has nothing to do with Lea. I don't know where these stories are coming from, but they are not true.
"Any reports or rumors circulating that Naya Rivera was let go or fired from Glee are absolutely untrue. End of story."
