J.J. Abrams has finally announced the cast for Star Wars: Episode VII and it's certainly a star-studded affair with the likes of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Adam Driver among the Hollywood actors who have been confirmed for the next installment.
The news was revealed today by the film's director Abrams after speculation mounted as to who would be joining the new sci-fi flick when some of the rumoured actors were spotted in London yesterday, but fans can now breathe a sigh of relief.

Original stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Kenny Baker, Anthony Daniels and Peter Mayhew will be joined by new additions to the cast: John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.
Announcing the news in a statement, Abrams said: "We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again.
"We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud." Some of the cast members, including Ford and Fisher, were seen at a dinner in London this week, prompting the speculation.
A source told The Sun: "The cast are being flown out to various locations to film. Bosses want to capitalise on them all being in London by booking in a get-together. It was a top secret mission, nobody was allowed to let on they'd be meeting up."
Star Wars: Episode VII is expected for release in December 2015.
